Fatal Distractions

July 2, 2020 | Darrell Hutto

A word of encouragement from my heart to yours:

Do not allow the fighting, deeds of hatred and violence taking place around the world, be a distraction to you.

Give your attention to the real issue of advancing Gods Kingdom through being His Representative.

The works of Satan are to steal, kill and destroy. Satan has his representatives also. When they start tearing down crosses, damaging church buildings, and harassing Believers, remember what Jesus said on the cross: Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing.

Jesus demonstrated how to operate the love of God when facing many persecutions. We must allow the Spirit of God to enable us to demonstrate the nature of the One we love and serve. The real church is not a building, it is not brick & mortar. It is you and I. We are the living Body of Christ, the Church. The real Church will never be destroyed! Regardless of what persecution comes our way, we have been given the assignment to tell people how to turn from their wicked ways, be forgiven through Christ and be Born Again.

I plead with you as the Body of Christ NOT to be distracted by what all is going on in this world. Satans goal is to keep the Body of Christ divided, agitated, frustrated, confused, hopeless, bitter and angry. If we allow satan to keep us distracted, he knows we will not share the Gospel with the hurting and wounded. We must look beyond the chaos and see the ‘God opportunities’ that lie ahead of us. We cannot afford to be distracted. The stewardship of the precious Gospel has been placed in our hands. The eternity of Precious souls are at stake, waiting for someone to reach them with the message of Jesus. Don’t allow the temporal to distract from the eternal.

When Denise & I were serving the Lord in Haiti, we had children die in our arms from starvation. It was one of the hardest things we have ever experienced. We had to remind ourselves that our priority was not to start a food program to feed all of Haiti but to make sure every person we reached had an opportunity to hear and receive the greatest Love story ever told, the Gospel.

While in Vietnam, we heard over and over from church leaders, “ Do not pray for our freedom from communism, pray that we will not loose our passion for Christ.” Our goal is to keep Gods highest priority. The salvation of a soul. Chaos screams very loud, but compassion recognizes how empty people are and sees what they need. I heard it said, “People don’t care how much you know, they want to know how much you care”.

Today, we have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of people. Don’t be distracted and afraid by their rudeness. See beyond that and reach their hearts with a word from God fitly spoken.

Someone, somewhere needs what you have been given from God.

God bless you our friends.
Make a difference in the lives of people.
Let your words, your hands, your actions be a blessing everywhere you go, demonstrating what Jesus taught us to do.
